Part of the trip to visit my mom was to get her on board with some new technology. She did a great job… I tend to hassle her about having old electronics and she was a good sport to try and upgrade, I do think she’ll be happy once she remembers all the stuff I told her. We got her setup with my old iPad and a DVR. She is of course playing Angry Birds and now watches some of her favorite shows without using a VCR! Yeah Mom… and yes, my kids didn’t know what a VCR was.

Of course if mom got my old iPad then I got a new iPad. Woohoo! While I was getting everything ready for her I browsed a few apps and I’m sort of in love with Flipboard. If you need a slick way to read the web check it out…

Heading home. It was a nice visit and we are all sad that “vacation mode” has to end… Although I’ll miss my mom, I won’t miss the traffic! Yikes… and this was at 10a.m. Isn’t everyone at work already?!

I went for a walk along the Rio Del Mar beach this morning and I saw three dolphins jumping about like I have never seen before! They were splashing and jumping around like crazy… You can tell they were active because I caught them on my crappy phone camera… If I’d only had my nice camera. Oh well, it was still very cool!
