Bead Embroidery Tutorial

purple heart

Whew! That took forever! But I finally got my newest bead embroidery tutorial up on my site. I just love this little pendant that I made with one of my glass cabs. I hope to have a few cabochons in the mart tomorrow in case anyone wants to give it a try! :)

Teal and black necklace.

I tell ya’ I’m outa control with these cabochons of mine! I made all but the bottom cabochon in this design. (There are a total of seven all together.) I’m having so much fun using them with seed beads because the color options are endless. This necklace took awhile to make but smaller designs go rather quickly. I am trying to work up a tutorial because I want you to be just as addicted as me! Ha! :) Okay, see you at the Mart tomorrow with new goodies, lots of organics.

Beaded bezel in pink.

pink cab

So I love working with silver and bezel setting my cabs, but I have to say that I find the color choices limited… silver or uh, silver. (Sorry, I’m not brave enough to work in gold yet!) The other day I was looking at some old bead magazines and I saw some beautiful bead embroidery and that inspired me to break out my seed beads. I’m rather pleased with how this piece turned out and I’ve already started the next. I think other than the texture, which I love, I am happy about how light it is to wear. I enjoy making statement pieces, but lets face it, statements in glass can be heavy! The seed beads here are nice and light making them a great match to my handmade glass cabs. I am quite addicted to making cabs these days, maybe I’ll add some to the Mart. Does anyone else wanna try their hand at making beaded bezels? Maybe a tutorial is in order… :)

YOJ – Cynthia’s Necklace

happy hollows detail

I had some very fun hollow beads in the Mart the other day and my friend bought them and asked me to make her a necklace… She said she wanted it on 2 cords with a few silver beads and this was what I came up with. Make sure you click the pics to see full image. I like the necklace so much that I think I should make myself one too! :D

YOJ – Ndebele Weave or Herringbone Weave

blueheart

Here is my first attempt at Ndebele weave… It is kind of addicting, and much easier than tubular peyote stich! I’ve got some fun ideas using this technique so stay tuned… :)

I love the copper in this design… :)

Still working towards tomorrow… :D

Making jewelry.

I’m working on goodies for our jewelry show on Sunday… I also plan to have some jewelry items in the Mart on Tuesday next week, in case you won’t have time to whip up your own bead creations. Where does the time go?! :D

YOJ – Hammered Necklace

hammered necklace

I made this necklace and it is really comfortable to wear! I had such a great time hammering the bar which the pendant drops from… I think I might be a little addicted to hammering silver now. :D I’m cleaning a big ol’ pile of beads for tomorrow so check back if you have a minute!
