So I dragged DH to see Valentine’s Day tonight. It was mostly entertaining and certainly forgettable. It would have been a great movie to watch while doing something else. All the cute guys in it helped out, and the Taylors, Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner were the best part. Taylor Swift was quite funny! Anyway, we got out… that was great! I really wanted to see Shutter Island (and by IMDB reviews I guess we should have!) but I was worried it would scare me too much! I’m a sissy when it comes to movies, I get an image in my head and I won’t sleep for weeks. I might have to rent that one, have DH watch it, tell me all the scary parts, and then watch it on some sunny afternoon! Ha! Okay… beads on Tuesday so check back!

So we saw this gorgeous rainbow on the way to piano lessons today. I wish I had my real camera because I probably could have taken a much better photo with it. Oh well, the girls would not have appreciated me pulling over to snap the shot. They suffered enough, it was another day of snoring during piano lessons. Ha! Who knew I’d become such a napper! Old age I guess…

So my youngest has a stye. We thought it was a stye and apparently we should have looked it up on the web before we went to the doctor because after waiting for almost an hour the treatment is… hot compresses. Hmmm… probably shoulda just known that but DH was like take her in, get it looked at, so I did. Anyway, I fell asleep in the waiting room while sitting up in an uncomfortable chair. That can’t be good. I did get this awesome drawing from my daughter. She actually waited very nicely, but everyone has their limits. Luckily there were no pitchforks nearby… or as she called it… a trident. We just saw The Lightning Thief of course. Anyway, we are hot compressing away and hopefully her eye will be on the mend soon! I’ll be back tomorrow with new beads so check back!

The girls performed in the Asian Celebration today and yesterday. They got up on a stage in front of lots of strangers and did their karate. It was awesome! Good job girls! Oh and below is a picture of the Sensei doing some big kicks… it was impressive to see how hard everyone worked to put on the performance.

I’m getting closer… I just moved and updated my photoblog. When moving it I got to see all my pics again and I’m inspired to update it more often. I got nice shoes for $1! Woohoo! I even used an expired coupon! I love DSW. My coupon was good through Feb. 14th and after chatting with the clerk I sort of whined about how I forgot to get in the store in time to use my coupon and she was like whip it out… we can still use it. Sweet! I just love that store. Of course I want to go back and get those flip-flops decorated with swarovski crystals. I just knew it was less fun to buy flip-flops in February because I can’t wear them until July. I am taking a trip in March though… hmmm….

I’ve added some new glass goodies to my store. I’m smitten with making pendants these days… I really like my new design (of course I forgot to put it in the photo) like this. It is just so satisfying from a technical perspective to make these pendants off mandrel, “drill” a hole in them, and then successfully get them into the kiln (and out) without them breaking! I feel like all my years of practice are coming together in one piece and it makes me smile every time! Hopefully you like the design. Anyway, happy Tuesday.

My oldest is making animated gifs for the web! She is smitten with bacon, what can I say?! Really, who doesn’t like bacon…

What really matters on Valentine’s Day are the cards from my family of course! Dude did a good job and got me a very nice necklace… okay, I got myself a nice necklace and put his name on it. Whatever right?! Happily I don’t need him to prove anything and it is a good excuse to justify a new $15 purchase. Gotta love those Hallmark holidays!
