Comments are on!

So here it is… the new layout. What do you think? I’ve also turned on the comments… Let’s see if any show up!
Palm tree

So I think I am finally back on Oregon time… It has been a bit of a rough re-entry with the cold rain all week, but I think I’m back on track!
I am once again playing around with formatting my blog. I’m thinking… “eek”… of allowing comments. My blog is coming up on 4 years old so I figure it might be time to mix it up! Anyway, today I finally downloaded all 300 Maui pics so you can expect to see a few of those over the next few weeks. TGIF! Oh… and Happy Birthday Mom!
We made it home.

We made it home without much hassle… Yeah!
Although re-entry is always a little rough. On vacation you do so little that it seems impossible to fit your regular schedule into one day. Sigh… Anyway, it was a lovely trip and my girls will remember it forever. Thank you Nansy and Pops. Oh, I forgot to share this whale fin that we saw from on top of Pineapple Hill. I also saw a breaching whale just before we left, it was amazing, you’d just look out over the ocean and see so much activity! Anyway, back to the routine, beads tomorrow of course.
lizard

So first he was green…

then he turned brown…
Really… that was the excitement for the day, I’m enjoying this laying about!
Turtles everywhere!

Remember our last trip? Well after killing two underwater video cameras… only one of which I take the blame for… I don’t think that I’m going to have any video to share for this trip!
But the awesome zoom on my camera can snap a picture as the sea-turtles rise to the surface to breath. We swam with them yesterday and today, all in all we saw 3-4 on each outing. It is pretty amazing, not to mention that off in the distance we keep seeing whales pop up and spouting, and generally doing their whale thing.
Very cool!
Kapalua Resort Trails

Today we went on our hike to the Kapalua Resort trails. We walked the Honolua Ridge and Maunalei Arboretum trails which were nice. It was unusual because they encouraged us to go off the trail and pick fruit and check out the trees which was cool. They had coffee and guava growing everywhere and of course Dude had to climb a few trees… Then we ran into this huge centipede on our way home. All in all a nice hike.

We are having fun in the sun!

Today we go on a 2 mile hike… oh boy… so I might have video from that. I keep forgetting my camera! I’m apprently in ultra mellow vacation mode which I guess is good.
