Nature

Are you sick of my nature pics yet? Or maybe the smiley faces? Nooooo… not those! You can never have enough smiley faces right?! I am having fun taking and playing with these photos of flowers and such. I took this one today while I went on a hike to my usual Mt. Pisgah. After I took the photo I couldn’t stop wondering if I had walked in poison oak when I moved the flower. (What can I say, sometimes nature needs a little help!) Happily no itching yet so I think I’m good. I must have poison oak on the brain because my mom is currently suffering from it… hope you are itching less mom!
Beads are up!

Okay, again I’m a little late over here on my blog… I just get all the beads listed and lately I have things to do, people to see, places to go… okay, not really, I just got sucked into playing with my camera!
What do you think of the white background? I finally figured out how to use a white background and still have nice color for the beads AND (this is the important part) it didn’t take forever to make it happen.
We’ll see if it sticks… Oh yeah… my beads are found at www.dudamart.com.
Here is another photo… just in case you don’t get my newsletter…

Aquarium

Okay… so I love fish! I have always wanted a big saltwater aquarium… and now we have one. A whopping 38 gallon aquarium! I know, I went a little crazy, go big or go home right?! Oh well… I just saw all those pretty fish and I want one of each.
Anyway, We have a little Green Chromis Damselfish like in the photo above, and we also have a little Cardinalfish which I can’t find a photo to share. I’ll have to take my own photo tomorrow, the aquarium is in the girls bedroom and they are “sleeping” right now. Actually I can hear them chatting non-stop about the fish, but hopefully the soothing sound of the filter will help then nod off soon! Anyway, that was my exciting day, measuring salinity and trying to keep water off the carpet!
Sweet Creek Falls

We went on a little hike today to Sweet Creek Falls. It was gorgeous! The falls were beautiful and the the trail was super easy to walk, always a bonus in my book!
Of course did the rest of my family stay on the trail? No… It was fine however since I was totally sucked in by the beauty of all the ferns and flowers. I was fascinated by all the different types of ferns and how they all swirled open differently. I just love swirls and it was very cool to see so much natural swirly goodness. I took way took a ridiculous number of photos and I can’t wait to go make some fern beads!

YOJ – Hint of pink bracelet
Requests are keeping me on track with my YOJ (Year of Jewelry) quest! Thanks!
I have a few new ideas which I might try this week… Things are quiet around here for the holiday, no plans other than relaxing! Hopefully I will get a little of that accomplished. School gets out around here June 18th and I am feeling the end of the year push to cram everything in… Sigh… Oh well, soon it will be lazy days of sleeping in… or not. My kids get up at 6am EVERY day. It makes getting to school on time easy, but sometimes I wished we could all be a little more lazy about getting out of bed… the grass is always greener I guess.
YOJ – Happy Pink
I’m still in love with my smallbeads…
Isn’t that message bead too cute as well? That was a suggestion and I’m so happy that I got it! I’ve got some fun ideas in the works… I’ve kinda gotten in the habit of making beads late in the day and with this heat that does not work very well. I’m gonna have to adjust my schedule for summer!
Should I be concerned?

This drawing certainly caught my eye. It is right out of a tabloid… a princess asking “Do I have to go to jail?” I had to get the whole story from my daughter, the artist… Apparently this girl set fire to some houses when she made homemade fireworks on her 16th birthday and that is why she is asking if she should go to jail. Her crown reads 16 then a heart… because she loves being 16. I asked if the worm is telling her to go to jail and my 6 year old said “no” she didn’t really know who was saying yes… My youngest is getting the chance to draw with a permanent sharpie marker (I know… will I regret this?) and it has her drawing non-stop these days. It is amazing how a once forbidden tool can spark new interest.
Another hike…

Yep… I went again, this time with friends. Who can turn down time with great friends and exersize so I can eat more at dinner?!
It is also in the 90′s today which is making it a little hard for me to jump into my shop and sit next to my kiln, but I might… you never know. Hope you are having a great Friday.
